Equivital supported Rhys Christie-Kelly during his London Marathon 2019 run for Mencap, a charity with a mission to transform societies attitude to learning disabilities.

He wore the Equivital EQ02 + LifeMonitor which allowed a team to track his vital signs, location and heat stress index throughout the race.

He successfully completed the marathon with a time of 3:25:42 and raising over £2000 for the charity.

Rhys said: “I have always had the ambition to run the London Marathon. I supported Mencap as I think it’s a charity with a good mission behind it. I have been training by partaking in several half-marathons in the lead up to the race and I have really enjoyed it.”

Using the Black Ghost software, the team tracked Rhys throughout the marathon and monitored his physiological state remotely. Physiological data obtained from the LifeMonitor sensor is displayed within the Black Ghost application, this combined with GPS location data and subject alerts allowed the team to ensure Rhys was healthy and not experiencing heat stress throughout the marathon.
